Thirteen years ago
Among many witnesses
We stood and committed to each other
All I heard as we prepared for that day was
Love Fades
He will show his true colors
What if, what if, what if?
I wish they knew
What I know now
That what fades is not love
They should have said
Fantasy fades
Pretense fades
Illusions fade
But love remains
For love covers a multitude of sins
Love does not keep an inventory of wrongs
In fact love rights all the wrongs
Thirteen years on
I still miss you when you are gone
I close my eyes
I imagine my future and
Your silhouette I see
I loved you when I hardly knew you
I know you know
With all your flaws and strengths
And I love you more
I love the little big things that you do for me
Your constant assurance that I matter
Your love for your children
And the fact that I can always count on you
My love
I can openly declare
That whatever you do
My love for you will never fade.

This almost brought me to tears. I am glad I matter to you. You are special to me. I read it and read again just so it sinks. I will read this again 50 years from today. Love you always!π
