Who are you calling lazy?

Life would be easier if we didn’t have to deal with  perceptions. On the contrary, we find ourselves having to deal with misguided opinions every day of our lives, having to justify why we do things in a certain way, why we believe in God, why we are tall, the list endless! There are certainly people who are highly opinionated and they seriously irritate me, to say the least. Well, I do not have a problem with solicited opinion or advice from a friend or constructive criticism but not some silly comments uttered without thinking. I wonder if they ever think of the impact of their words on the recipient. In Setswana we say,  lefoko ga le boe, go boa monwana. Worse still, these kind of people believe they hold the formula for everything and everybody else is clueless, who gave them that authority? Only God knows. They will criticize other people’s customs, choices, dressing, you name it. The irony is that sometimes you feel they should learn from those people but you don’t want to bruise their overinflated egos.

Well, still on perceptions, I have friends who think I’m lazy. I have always been baffled by this statement. You see, I’m not one to go over mountain tops and shout I work hard!!!!!!!!! I just do what needs to be done. I am not a busybody, I am a hard worker. Let me demystify this for you; when I was growing up I didn’t like cooking that much.  I would wake up early in the morning, clear and sweep the yard, then clean the house so that others prepare meals, then do the dishes. Now you be the judge, who has worked the most? Funny enough, those who are known to work hard are those who prepare meals. Could it be because they feed everybody and therefore with content bellies, the judges bestow the hard worker award on them? makes perfect sense. I should add that before I had my baby, I never hired a helper. My house was perfectly clean and no, I didn’t have a zombie, I did all the house work myself. So who are you calling lazy?

Check out my picture below in action. Besides I am a firm believer in word of God which does not condone laziness.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 -11 ” For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.”

Inspired to become a loyal follower. Some people would say its a good article and to them that will be all it is.To me its good advice, its great revelation and its the truth unquenched.

Everyone is educated one way or the other, just because I didn’t study on your field of study doesn’t make me any less educated.Lazy has become a word used to describe difference in profession or field of study.Like you say perception by itself is deception.

Thanks again for the eye opening piece of writing.Looking forward to more.
